About Brachina Gorge
Brachina Gorge cuts through the [Flinders Ranges](/au/places/sa/flinders-ranges), exposing a world-famous sequence of ancient sedimentary rock layers spanning 650–530 million years, including the critical Ediacaran period when the first complex multicellular life appeared on Earth. The Brachina Gorge Geological Trail is a 20km self-drive trail through the gorge with 17 numbered stops interpreting the rock record. Yellow-footed rock-wallabies are regularly seen at dusk.
