About Sugarloaf Rock
Sugarloaf Rock is a dramatic conical granite sea stack rising from the Indian Ocean near Cape Naturaliste, named for its distinctive sugarloaf shape. The rock is a nesting site for red-tailed tropicbirds — rare in WA — which nest here between October and April, visible from the cliff-top walking track. The contrast of white waves crashing against dark granite, with the turquoise ocean behind, makes it one of the most photographed coastal scenes in the Margaret River region.
