About The Horn Mt Buffalo
The Horn is the highest point of Mount Buffalo at 1723m above sea level, offering a 360-degree panorama across the Victorian Alps, the Ovens Valley, and on clear days as far as the New South Wales ranges. A short walk from the car park leads to a viewing platform perched on wind-swept granite boulders. The summit is above the treeline and has a raw, exposed alpine character.

Getting There
Drive to the Horn Car Park near the top of the Buffalo Road on the plateau. It is signposted from the main plateau road. The walk to the summit platform is 600m return.
Visitor Tips
- •Check the weather forecast before heading up. Start early to avoid afternoon storms. The clearest days are usually after a cold front passes. Bring warm clothing even in midsummer as winds at the summit are cold.
