Mount Buffalo's gorge is a dramatic alpine landscape carved by water and time, offering accessible day walks and scenic viewpoints. The visitor area sits at the gateway to Mt Buffalo National Park, where towering rock formations and mountain vistas frame every trail.

Walks & Trails

The area has over a dozen walks within 4km, ranging from easy to moderate. Start with the Gorge Heritage Walk (easy, 1km) or venture to the Underground River Track and Eurobin Falls (moderate). For viewpoint walks, try the View Point Nature Walk, Lakeside Walk, or Lake View Walk. The Monolith Walk, Ballroom Track, and Rollasons Falls Track offer longer exploration options. The Horn Mt Buffalo is the iconic landmark to target.

Camping

The closest option is Lake Catani Campground (2km), set within the national park. For caravans, Mount Buffalo Caravan Park, Discovery Parks - Mount Buffalo, and Riverview Caravan Park are all 10km away. The nearby towns of Porepunkah (11km) and Bright (13km) have additional parks including Porepunkah Pines Holiday Park, Bright Riverside Holiday Park, and Big 4 Bright Holiday Park.
