History & Significance

Sea World opened in 1971 and is part of the Village Roadshow theme parks group on the Gold Coast. It pioneered marine-based attractions in Australia and has operated continuously as a major dolphin and marine animal exhibition venue. The park combines traditional marine animal encounters with modern theme park rides.

Located on the Gold Coast, roughly 20 km south of Surfers Paradise. Access via the Pacific Motorway (M1). Nearest major town is Surfers Paradise, approximately 20–25 minutes' drive north. Public transport available via Gold Coast bus network, though a car is more convenient for theme park visits.
