The Lane Vineyard

Situated in Hahndorf, about 30 kilometres southeast of Adelaide, The Lane Vineyard has been producing cool-climate wines from the Adelaide Hills since 1993. The Wines

The Lane focuses on three varieties well suited to the Adelaide Hills' cool growing conditions: sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and pinot noir. The region's elevated altitude and diurnal temperature variation — warm days followed by cool nights — allow grapes to ripen slowly, which tends to produce wines with good natural acidity and defined varietal character.

The Lane was established in 1993, placing it among the wave of vineyards that helped shape the modern identity of Adelaide Hills as a cool-climate wine region. Over the decades it has built a reputation grounded in those three core varieties, and the development of restaurant and event facilities has since positioned it as a destination in its own right rather than purely a production winery.

Getting There

Hahndorf is an easy drive from Adelaide — follow the South Eastern Freeway southeast for around 30 kilometres and you'll be there in roughly 30 minutes under normal conditions. Dedicated car parking is available at the cellar door. Caravan parking on-site is limited, so it's worth contacting the venue ahead of time if you're travelling with a van; the Hahndorf town centre has additional parking nearby.

There is no direct public transport to the vineyard itself, though regional buses do serve Hahndorf township, which is a short distance from the cellar door.
