About This Trail

The 62km Gippsland Plains Rail Trail joins the towns of Traralgon and Stratford, offering great views of the Great Dividing Range to the north, and passing though a number of small towns with different points of interest and accommodation options. It is serviced by V/Line trains at both ends. The trail rises just 50m over its whole length. It has sections of asphalt near Traralgon but is then predominantly smooth gravel. Traralgon is a major population centre for the Latrobe Valley. It has a shopping plaza, fast-food outlets and accommodation. Trail hub with interpretive sign 2km from Traralgon off Burnets Rd [2025]
