Falls Creek is Victoria's most picturesque alpine resort, built on a broad plateau at 1600m with a compact ski-in ski-out village and a reputation for reliable snow and excellent groomed cross-country trails. The resort is named for the Rocky Valley Creek that cascades below the village, and is adjacent to the Rocky Valley Storage — a large reservoir with dramatic alpine scenery. In summer Falls Creek hosts Australia's premier alpine cycling and running events.

Falls Creek is 375km northeast of Melbourne via the Hume Freeway (M31) to Wangaratta, then east through Bright to Mount Beauty, then up the Bogong High Plains Road.
