Built in 1979, the 17-metre fibreglass spiny lobster (nicknamed 'Larry') was created to celebrate Kingston SE's significant crayfish (lobster) fishing industry. The monument has become an iconic Australian roadside 'Big Thing' and a popular photo stop for travellers on the Limestone Coast. It marks the town's maritime heritage and economic backbone.
