About Croajingolong NP

Croajingolong National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in far east Gippsland, covering 87,500 hectares of pristine coastal wilderness from Sydenham Inlet to the New South Wales border. The park encompasses remote beaches, estuaries, heathlands, rainforest patches, and coastal ranges largely unchanged since European settlement. It is one of the most ecologically intact coastal parks in Australia and supports more than 300 bird species.

Getting There

The park is 500km east of Melbourne via the Princes Highway to Orbost, then south through Cann River and Mallacoota. Point Hicks is reached via the Tamboon Road from Cann River.

Visitor Tips

  • β€’Mallacoota is the main gateway and offers accommodation and supplies. Book campgrounds at Wingan Inlet early. The Wilderness Coast Walk (100km multi-day) is one of the most remote and rewarding walks in Victoria.
