About Lady Musgrave Island
Lady Musgrave Island is an uninhabited coral cay in the Southern Great Barrier Reef, set in the centre of one of the reef's most pristine and accessible coral lagoons. The island is a protected national park and marine park, nesting site for green turtles and an enormous colony of black noddy terns, and the surrounding turquoise lagoon offers world-class snorkelling and diving with excellent coral cover and abundant marine life. Getting There
Day tours depart from 1770 (also known as Agnes Water) and Bundaberg. The Lady Musgrave Experience operates regular cruises from 1770, approximately 1.5 hours by catamaran.
Parking
No vehicle parking on the island. Access is by boat tour only from the mainland (typically Bundaberg area). Parking available at the boat tour departure point.
Visitor Tips
- β’Book far in advance for camping (strictly limited permits). Carry all food, water, and supplies. Snorkelling gear hire is available on the day tour boat. Visit in November for turtle nesting season β an extraordinary natural spectacle.
