About

Australia's favourite water park on the Gold Coast with high-speed water slides, a giant wave pool, lazy river, and aqua play areas for all ages.

History & Significance

Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast opened in 1984 as Australia's first water park, establishing the Gold Coast as a major theme park destination. It has expanded significantly over decades to become the country's most visited water park, featuring iconic attractions like the Kamikaze slide and The Surge wave pool.

Getting There

Map of Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast

Located on the Gold Coast, approximately 20 minutes south of Surfers Paradise. Accessible via the Pacific Motorway (M1). Nearest major town is Southport. Public transport available via local buses.

Parking

Large on-site car park with free parking. Ample capacity for daily visitors. Accessible parking spaces available near main entrance. Overflow parking available during peak periods.

Visitor Tips

  • Arrive early (before 10:30am) to avoid peak crowds and longest queue times on major slides
  • Start with the high-speed slides first before the park gets busy
  • Bring reef-safe sunscreen and reapply frequently — sun reflection off water intensifies UV exposure
  • Use the lazy river as a break between rides, not just at the end of your visit
  • Check seasonal hours before visiting as they vary throughout the year
  • Wear water shoes for the hot pavement between attractions
