About the Erica to Thomson Rail Trail
The 7km Erica to Thomson Rail Trail gives you a taste of the excitement that visitors must have experienced on early railway journeys from Moe.
This railway corridor is a Crown Land Reserve leased by the Walhalla Goldfields Railway, a volunteer group that operates a heritage train service between Thomson and Walhalla. They do not endorse the use of the section from Erica to Thomson as a rail trail and do not maintain it.
Warning: Just before Thomson, there are detours around the remains of two bridges. Cyclists will need to dismount or turn back
Erica Railway Museum has closed but is still worth a look from Henty St [2023]
