About Hallett Cove Conservation Park
A remarkably preserved geological record of the Permian glaciation (280 million years ago) sits within the southern suburbs of Adelaide. The park contains striated boulder pavements, glacial erratics, moraines, and sea cliffs that together tell the story of an ancient ice age. The Sugarloaf, a prominent coastal tor, is the park's visual centrepiece, and the area has been proposed for UNESCO Geopark status.
