History & Significance

Palm Valley is home to a rare stand of red cabbage palms (Livistona mariae), a species found naturally in very few locations in Central Australia. The palms thrive in this sheltered valley due to permanent water sources and rocky outcrops that provide protection. The site holds cultural significance for the local Arrernte people.
