History & Significance

Kapi Mutitjulu is a significant waterhole in the traditional lands of the Anangu people. It has provided water to the region's traditional owners and wildlife for generations. The waterhole remains an important cultural and ecological site in the Uluru region.

Getting There

Located near Uluru, approximately 50 km south-west of Yulara. Access via unsealed road from the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park road. High-clearance vehicle recommended, particularly after rain.

Parking

Limited free parking at the site. No formal car park—park on designated area near the waterhole. Accessible parking available for wheelchair users. No overflow facilities.

  • Visit early morning for cooler temperatures and better wildlife viewing
  • Bring plenty of water—there are no facilities nearby
