Getting There

  • Start early to avoid afternoon cloud cover and ensure best photography light
  • Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of water—there are no facilities on the mountain
  • Check weather conditions before attempting the ascent; weather changes rapidly at this elevation
  • Bring sun protection and a warm layer even in summer; it's significantly cooler at 2178m
  • Allow 3-4 hours for a full ascent and descent depending on fitness level
