The Wines

Riesling is the flagship here, and the Clare Valley's conditions make a compelling case for why. Limestone-rich soils, elevated terrain, and cool nights all work together to preserve the natural acidity and fine detail that defines good Clare Riesling. Taylors' version leans into those strengths, producing wines with freshness and longevity.

Tastings run daily and cover a selection from the core range. No booking is required for small groups, though if you're arriving with a larger party, it's worth calling ahead. Tasting fees apply and are reasonable.

Food and Dining

Light food and platters are available at the cellar door, put together with local produce and matched to complement the wines on offer. There's also an outdoor picnic area if you'd prefer to eat outside, and BYO picnics are welcome — a useful option if you're travelling through the valley and want to make an afternoon of it.

Getting There

From Adelaide, head north via the Princes Highway and follow the valley roads into the Clare Valley. The cellar door is well-signposted from the town of Clare. Caravanners can access the property, though turning space for larger rigs is limited — manageable, but worth keeping in mind. Coach and minibus parking is available. There's no public transport to the vineyard, so a car is essential.

Visitor Tips

• Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for a relaxed visit and tasting
• Arrive at the main cellar door first and park there before exploring any other parts of the property
• Bring sun protection — parts of the tasting area can be exposed
• Mid-week visits in peak season will be quieter than weekends
• Pick up a vineyard map on arrival if you plan to do a self-guided walk around the property
• Autumn (March–May) is generally the most comfortable time to visit; harvest season (March–April) in particular brings activity and energy to the property
• Spring (September–October) offers clear skies and wildflowers along the valley roads
• Winter visits are quieter and cooler — fine for a tasting, but some days can be overcast
