About Dromana & the Mornington Peninsula

Dromana sits on the narrow neck of the Mornington Peninsula, where Port Phillip Bay meets Western Port. The town is surrounded by coastal scrub, vineyard hills, and walking trails that range from short beachside strolls to more challenging inland climbs. It's an ideal base for exploring the peninsula's natural and culinary attractions.

Walks & Trails

The area offers over a dozen walking tracks within easy reach. Close to town are Glenn's Pony, Crits, and Deadwoods, all just 2–3km away. For longer walks, try Arthurs Seat Circuit Walk, Charlotte's Pass, or the Two Bays Walking Trail, which showcases views across both bays. T C McKellar Circuit Walk, Gunn Barrel, Link, Friends Track, Fall Line, and Rock Salt provide additional options for varied terrain and difficulty.

Camping

Several caravan parks are within a few kilometres of town. Peninsula Holiday Park and Dromana Peninsula Holiday Park are both 3km away, while Dromana Holiday Village is 4km south. Further afield, Valley Holiday Park, Sunrise Caravan Park in Rosebud, and several foreshore sections near Rosebud offer additional options for touring vehicles and caravans.

Wineries & Cellar Doors

The Mornington Peninsula is renowned for cool-climate wines and ciders. Within 6–9km are Crittenden Estate Winery, Main Ridge Estate, Mock Red Hill Cider, Hickinbotham Winery, and Stonier Wines. Many cellar doors welcome visitors for tastings and lunch.

Safety Beach Golf Club and Bay Views Golf Course are close by at 5–6km. Golfers can also explore Rosebud Country Club, Village Glen Golf Course, and Mount Martha Public Golf Course further along the peninsula.
