Ararat sits in the heart of Victoria's Western District, a region defined by volcanic landscapes, cool-climate vineyards, and a rich gold-mining heritage. The town serves as a gateway to the Grampians National Park and the celebrated Great Western wine region, making it an ideal base for touring caravanners.

Walks & Trails

Short walks near town include Cemetery Creek Path (1km) and Cemetery Creek Track (3km), both easy introductions to the local landscape. For moderate hiking, Mount Langi Ghiran Walk (18km) offers panoramic views, while easy options like Water Race Circuit (16km) and Reservoir Walk (15km) suit all fitness levels.
