About the Windermere Bay to Connewarre Bay Track

Windermere Bay to Connewarre Bay Track is a hiking route in Tasmania's south-east, following a dirt surface between two bays north of Hobart. The track suits walkers prepared for unsealed terrain underfoot and gives access to a quieter stretch of waterway shoreline within reach of the capital. Abbotsfield Rivulet is the closest listed attraction at only 2 kilometres from the trail, while kunanyi / Mount Wellington sits about 11 kilometres away and the Organ Pipes lie roughly 12 kilometres from the trail, useful additions for travellers planning a wider day in the region. The walk is not dog friendly, not wheelchair accessible, not stroller friendly, and bikes are not permitted. Wear sturdy footwear given the dirt surface, which can become slippery after rain, and carry weatherproof layers as southern Tasmanian weather can change quickly. Bring sufficient water and sun protection, and check current land-manager notices before setting out for any temporary closures. Tell someone your plan and expected return time before heading in, particularly if walking outside the warmer months when daylight hours are shorter.
