About the University Footbridge

University Footbridge is a sealed-surface hiking route in central Adelaide, sitting alongside the city's university precinct and parklands. The sealed path makes for easy walking conditions underfoot, suiting visitors who want a short urban walk close to the city centre. Adelaide Zoo is only 300 metres away, making this trail a practical option for travellers combining a city walk with a zoo visit. Waterfall Gully Reserve in Cleland Conservation Park lies about 10 kilometres from the trail, and Morialta Conservation Park sits roughly 12 kilometres away for walkers wanting to extend their day into the Adelaide foothills. The route is not dog friendly, not wheelchair accessible, not stroller friendly, and bikes are not permitted, so plan accordingly. As a central-Adelaide walk, it works well as part of a wider city itinerary on foot, with parklands, museums, and North Terrace cultural institutions nearby. Carry water and sun protection in warmer months, and check for any temporary closures during major university or city events that may affect access through the precinct.
