About the Oskies Trail

Oskies Trail is a hiking track on the New South Wales mid-north coast, set in the hinterland between Port Macquarie and Laurieton. The trail runs on a gravel surface, so walkers should wear shoes with reasonable grip and tread for compacted, sometimes loose underfoot conditions. Structured data for length, elevation gain, graded difficulty and estimated walking time is not currently recorded for this trail, so visitors should check local park or council signage and current conditions before setting out. The track is not flagged as dog friendly, wheelchair accessible, stroller suitable or open to bikes, so plan with that in mind. The trail's coastal hinterland setting places it within driving range of several well-known headland viewpoints further south, including Diamond Head Lookout about 24.3 kilometres away, Don Johnstone Lookout around 24.6 kilometres away, and Laurieton Lookout at a similar 24.6 kilometres, all of which make easy pairings for a longer day exploring the region. Coastal humidity and summer ticks are worth keeping in mind, particularly during warmer months.
