Bitter Springs is a natural thermal spring system fed by geothermal activity in the region. The springs have long been known to local Indigenous peoples and early European explorers. Located near Mataranka, approximately 430 km south of Darwin via the Stuart Highway. Turn east at Mataranka township and follow local signs. Accessible by 2WD vehicle.
