History & Significance

Long Reef is a distinctive rocky headland and underwater reef system on Sydney's central coast. The reef platform is a significant geological feature and marine habitat popular with snorkellers and photographers.

Located at Long Reef, Collaroy on Sydney's northern beaches, about 30 km north of Sydney CBD. Access via Pittwater Road or Ocean Street, Collaroy. Nearest shops and amenities at Collaroy village. Bus services available via local Sydney transport.

Parking

Free street parking available along Collaroy beachfront and near the lookout area. Capacity varies seasonally; arrive early on weekends. Some disability access parking available near main beach access points. Overflow parking at Collaroy Shopping Centre.

  • Visit at low tide to see the coral reef platform exposed
