History & Significance
Hyams Beach is located within Jervis Bay National Park, an area significant to the Dharawal and Yuin peoples for thousands of years. The beach gained international recognition when it was officially certified by Guinness World Records as having the whitest sand of any beach in the world, a distinction that has made it a major tourist destination on the NSW South Coast.

Getting There
Drive 2.5 hours south of Sydney via Princess Highway and Jervis Bay Road. Turn off near Nowra toward Huskisson and Hyams Beach. No direct public transport.
Parking
Free parking available but very limited, especially in summer and long weekends. Car break-ins reported — do not leave valuables unattended. Overflow parking in nearby Huskisson (5 km away). Wheelchair-accessible parking available near beach facilities.
Visitor Tips
- •Visit on a weekday to avoid crowds. Huskisson has dolphin watching cruises departing daily. The snorkelling at Murrays Beach is exceptional.
