About Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park

Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park is a remote oasis in the arid Gulf Savanna of far north-west Queensland, protecting a spectacular multi-layered gorge carved through ancient limestone by Lawn Hill Creek. The gorge's permanent spring water supports a palm-lined riparian oasis in vivid contrast to the surrounding spinifex plains, and the creek is safe for swimming and kayaking. The park also contains the World Heritage-listed Riversleigh Fossil Fields, one of the world's most significant and palaeontologically rich fossil sites.
