18km west of Alice Springs on Larapinta Drive. Sealed road. Bicycle path from Alice Springs available along Larapinta Drive.

Parking

Free parking available at the visitor centre and main trailhead area. Facilities are wheelchair accessible. Capacity is adequate for typical visitor numbers, though busy periods (winter months) may require use of overflow areas.

Visitor Tips

  • Go at dawn for the best rock wallaby sightings — they retreat into crevices by mid-morning
  • The bike path from Alice Springs (18km) is a popular morning ride
