History & Significance

Rainbow Valley is named for the distinctive multi-coloured bands visible on the MacDonnell Range escarpment, created by iron oxide and other mineral deposits. The area holds cultural significance to local Indigenous peoples and has become a popular spot for landscape and nature photography.
