About Bell Gorge

Bell Gorge is one of the most accessible and beautiful gorges along the Gibb River Road in the Kimberley, featuring a series of cascading tiered waterfalls tumbling into a deep turquoise plunge pool. The gorge is framed by ancient volcanic rock and surrounded by native paperbarks and figs. It is a highlight of the King Leopold Ranges Conservation Park and one of the most popular swimming holes on the Gibb River Road. The walk to the falls is 4 km return from Silent Grove campground.

Getting to Bell Gorge

250 km from Derby via Gibb River Road, then 30 km unsealed road south to Silent Grove campground and the Bell Creek gorge trailhead. 4WD required.

Tips for visiting Bell Gorge

The best swimming is in the lower pool directly below the main falls
Start the 4 km walk early to avoid midday heat
Bell Creek campground is right at the gorge — perfect base for an overnight stay
Combine with Windjana Gorge (130 km east toward Fitzroy Crossing)
