Purling Brook Falls is a stunning 109-metre waterfall in Springbrook National Park, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. The falls plunge from the basalt plateau edge into a subtropical rainforest gorge, accessible via several walking tracks including a circuit track that passes behind the falls through a cave system. The lookout at the falls provides dramatic views over the Gold Coast coastal plain to the ocean.

Getting to Purling Brook Falls

From the Gold Coast, drive west via Mudgeeraba to Springbrook Road, then 17 km up to the Springbrook plateau. Falls are signposted from Springbrook township. Allow 1 hour 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise.

Tips for visiting Purling Brook Falls

The 4-km circuit walk to the base and back behind the falls is the best way to experience them. Start early to find car parking. The best water flow is after heavy rain or during summer storms.
