About Kondalilla Falls

Kondalilla Falls is a 90-metre waterfall in Kondalilla National Park near Montville in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, dropping in two stages into a deep gorge surrounded by subtropical rainforest. The name comes from the Gubbi Gubbi language meaning 'rushing waters'. The falls can be reached via a scenic walk through rainforest and dry sclerophyll forest, passing an upper swimming hole popular with families before descending steeply to views of the lower falls.

Getting to Kondalilla Falls

From Nambour or Maleny, drive to Montville via Montville Road, then follow Kondallila Falls Road to the park car park. Located approximately 90 km north of Brisbane.

Tips for visiting Kondalilla Falls

The upper swimming hole is excellent for families as it is safer than the base of the falls. The full circuit walk is 5.8 km and takes 2–3 hours return. Start early on weekends as parking fills quickly.
