About Waikerie & the Murray River

Waikerie sits on the Murray River in South Australia's Riverland, a landscape shaped by water and agriculture. The town is a base for exploring nearby wineries, walking trails, and the river itself, with easy access to both local attractions and wider regional experiences.

Further afield, the Bookpurnong area has numerous trails including the Herons Bend Track, Malcom Moss Nature Trail, and several easy walks at the Gluepot Reserve, including the Old Gluepot Heritage Walk and Black Oak Swamp Walk.

Wineries & Cellar Doors

The Riverland's wine country is on your doorstep. Visit Growers Wine Group and AM & JL Devito Winery within a few kilometres, or venture further to Akuna Station, Banrock Station, and Kingston Estate Winery.
