About the Great Southern Rail Trail
The Great Southern runs through the lush farmland and rolling hills of South Gippsland. One of Australia's longest rail trails at 136km, the fine gravel surface is great for cycling and walking.
The surface is compacted gravel, which is generally quite smooth and well drained. Some sections have distance marker signs to help you appease the kids.
The Great Southern can be split into three main sections, but there are many intermediate towns for shorter rides
