About This Trail
The Eastern Dandenong Ranges Trail is a challenging 15km railside path that shadows the Puffing Billy Railway, giving you the possibility of a steam train ride back up to Belgrave if you need it This trail runs through the Dandenong Ranges from Clematis to Gembrook. While only 15km, it offers a full range of experiences – hills, forests, farms, rural villages, picnic areas and the heritage railway. It diverges from the narrow-gauge line in some places and has steeper gradients than a rail trail For public transport options scroll down to ‘GET AROUND’ and click on ‘SHOW MORE’ if necessary This section includes two steep declines through Wright Forest that have been upgraded with erosion mounds to reduce rain damage. It is suitable for walkers and MTB riders only.
