Mount Twynam

Located in Kosciuszko National Park near Thredbo Village, NSW. Access via Thredbo Alpine Village (about 120km south of Canberra). Drive to Rawson Pass carpark; walking track begins here. No public transport to the trailhead.

Mount Twynam is the third-highest peak in the Australian Alps at 2196m. It sits within Kosciuszko National Park and is a popular summit for hikers tackling the Main Range. The peak offers significant photography opportunities due to its elevated position and panoramic alpine vistas.

Start early to avoid afternoon clouds obscuring views
Bring plenty of water and sun protection—exposed ridge walking
Wear sturdy hiking boots; terrain is rocky and can be slippery when wet
