Located in the Snowy Mountains near Cooma, NSW. Access via Kosciuszko National Park, approximately 470 km southwest of Sydney. Drive to Rawson Pass carpark (sealed road), then walk the remaining 2.4 km summit trail. Nearest town is Cooma (60 km away).

Mount Kosciuszko is Australia's highest mountain at 2,228 metres, named after Polish military leader Tadeusz Kościuszko by explorer Paul Strzelecki in 1840.
