History & Significance

Thunderbolt's Cave is historically linked to the bushranger Captain Thunderbolt (Frederick Ward), who is said to have used the cave as a hideout during his criminal activities in the 1860s. The cave is a small natural limestone formation that has become a local heritage landmark. It reflects the region's convict and bushranger history.
