About this campsite
This historic site in Millers Point features a collection of Colonial Georgian and Victorian terraces arranged around a central park, creating the appearance of a traditional English village square. The row of heritage buildings dates from 1832 onwards and includes notable examples such as the Regency-style Osborne House and distinctive Victorian Italianate terraces, most of which remain in their original or well-preserved condition. The area's development was initiated by Governor Macquarie and completed after quarrying operations ceased around 1865, with Argyle Street named after the Scottish county where Macquarie grew up.
