History & Significance

Quarantine Anti-Aircraft Battery is a World War II defensive installation built to protect Darwin and its harbour from Japanese air raids. Constructed as part of Australia's northern defence infrastructure, the battery housed anti-aircraft guns and personnel stationed to detect and engage enemy aircraft. The ruins remain as testament to Darwin's strategic military importance during the Pacific War.
