Mount Hotham is a significant peak in the Australian Alps, named after Sir Frederick Hotham, a 19th-century colonial administrator. It sits on the NSW-Victoria border and has long been an important landmark for alpine explorers and surveyors. The mountain is part of the Kosciuszko alpine region, Australia's highest mountain range.
