History & Significance

Buda was built in 1857 as a bluestone residence for Ernest and Thirza Leviny, wealthy merchants. The property features an exceptional Victorian garden with original landscaping from the 1870s. It represents significant mid-19th century domestic life and architecture in regional Victoria. Now managed as a heritage property showcasing period furnishings and garden design.
