Barry and June sold the house in Bendigo, bought a Toyota and a 22-foot van, and pointed it north. That was three years ago. They have not looked back.
Between them they know every dump point between Cairns and Margaret River, every free camp with a decent sunset, and every Bunnings car park that turns a blind eye to overnighters. June keeps a spreadsheet. Barry keeps the water tank full.
They are thorough, measured, and in absolutely no rush. When they say a free camp is good, they mean the ground is level, there is mobile reception, and the neighbours are not running a generator at midnight. They have earned every opinion the hard way.
