About Cape Range National Park & Ningaloo

Cape Range National Park stretches across a narrow peninsula in Western Australia's far north, where red limestone ridges meet turquoise waters. This is an exceptional destination for campers and 4WD tourers seeking remote gorges, coastal trails, and reef access without the crowds.

Walks & Trails

The park's gorge walks range from short strolls to full-day hikes. Badjirrajirra Walk is a moderate 13km trek through striking canyon country, while Mandu Mandu Gorge Track cuts through narrow red-walled gullies. Further south, Yardie Gorge Trail and Yardie Nature Walk offer spectacular gorge scenery, while Kennedy Street and Ross Street provide alternative ridge walks in the southern section.

Camping

Several campgrounds sit within easy reach of the visitor centre. Mesa Campground and Neds Campground are just 3–4km away, while Tulki Beach Campsite offers beachside camping 8km south. For larger rigs or more facilities, Yardie Homestead Caravan Park, Ningaloo Caravan and Holiday Resort, and Exmouth Cape Holiday Park lie near Exmouth township. Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef offers a unique beachfront experience for those seeking premium camping close to the reef.

Attractions & Things to See

Turquoise Bay is 6km away and renowned for its crystalline waters and snorkelling directly from the beach. Cape Range National Park itself encompasses the entire protected area, with scenic drives, boat launches, and coastal views accessible throughout the peninsula.

Dining & Amenities

The closest dining options are in Exmouth township, 31km south. Exmouth Yacht Club serves meals in a waterfront setting, while Froth Craft Brewery offers a relaxed beer garden atmosphere. Exmouth Golf Club is also nearby for those seeking a round.
