About Biloela & the Central Queensland Hinterland

Biloela sits in central Queensland's rural hinterland, offering touring visitors a quiet stopover with good camping infrastructure and gateway access to the cave systems and walking tracks of the nearby ranges. The town serves as a base for exploring the dramatic limestone formations and bushwalking around Callide Dam and the surrounding conservation parks.

Walks & Trails

The best walking is found within 80–85km in the ranges to the west. Notable tracks include the Shamrock Mine Track, Two Storey Cave Circuit, Giants Chair & Fern Tree Pool Walking Track, and Lookout and Dragon Cave Tracks. The Picnic Area Circuit, Dripping Rock and Overhang Track, Bloodwood Cave Track, and Big Foot Walk round out the options, mostly cave and forest trails suitable for a day trip from town.

Camping

Biloela has several caravan parks within town: Biloela Heritage Park, Biloela Caravan & Tourist Park, Boomerang Caravan & Tourist Park, and Discovery Holiday Park - Biloela. For water-based camping, Callide Dam and Callide Dam Accommodation are 15km away, along with the free Red Steer Thangool Freecamp. Further afield lie Mt Scoria Conservation Park, Lawgi Dawes Park/Hall Campground, and Kroombit Park & Lochenbar Station.

Golf

The Biloela Golf Club is 7km from town.
