About Batemans Bay & the South Coast

Batemans Bay sits where the Clyde River meets the Tasman Sea, making it a natural hub for exploring NSW's South Coast. The area offers a mix of coastal and inland experiences—from beachside caravan parks to forested hiking trails and limestone caves further inland.

Walks & Trails

The local trail network caters to all fitness levels. Start with the easy Buchanan-Rolfe Boardwalk, just 1km away, for a gentle riverside stroll. For more serious walking, the area has over a dozen hiking tracks within 5km, including Cullendulla Track, Mangrove Walk, and tracks with memorable names like Weekend At Bernies, Spitfire, and Stairway to Haven. The variety means you can mix easy and challenging walks across a week's stay.

Camping

Batemans Bay has excellent caravan park options within 1km of the town centre, including Korners Park, Batemans Bay Caravan Park, BIG4 Batemans Bay At East's Riverside Holiday Park, and Rio Rita Caravan Park. For beachside camping, try BIG4 Batemans Bay Beach Resort or Batehaven Beach Caravan Park. Several options sit right on the river and beaches, offering direct access to water activities.
