Located in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW, near Kiandra. Access via Snowy Mountains Highway (Hwy 1) towards Cooma, then local roads to trailhead. Approximately 6–7 hours drive from Sydney.

Mount Jagungal is a prominent peak in the Snowy Mountains range and holds significance in Australian alpine geography. The mountain features in early European exploration records of the high country. It remains a popular but less-crowded alternative to Mount Kosciuszko for experienced bushwalkers.
