About this campsite
Byra Lagoon is a bush camping area within Culgoa Floodplain National Park in outback Queensland, featuring open camping spaces shaded by coolibahs and river red gums. The campsite is accessible by 4WD only (high clearance off-road camper trailers permitted, but not suitable for caravans) and located 500m from the ranger station, with no on-site facilities — you'll need to bring your own drinking water, food, fuel and supplies. Open fires are allowed in fire rings when not under fire bans, and you can camp in tents beside your vehicle or with a camper trailer on the dirt surface.
