A hilltop monument on Botanical Hill (147 m) marking the trig point used as the origin for New Zealand's first geodetic survey in the 1870s. While not the true geographic centre, the monument and lookout offer 360-degree views over Tasman Bay, Nelson city, and surrounding ranges. A short but steep 30-minute walk from the Botanic Reserve.
